For more than 30 years I have built an expertise in Human Rights, with a particular emphasis in the field of violence against women and girls. During my professional life I have experienced discrimination against women, I was therefore keen to develop and disseminate information on the situation of women and I was very early on involved in the fight of women for recognition of their rights. I was awarded the Légion d’Honneur by the President of the Republic of France in 2010 for my years spent combatting violence against women. Through a long term permanent presence at the United Nations in Geneva and regular participation in special sessions of the United Nations in New York or elsewhere, on behalf of recognized international NGOs, I was in a position to negotiate, with delegates and government representatives, on the key topics to be included in resolutions, conventions or additional protocols. I have also established and facilitated teamwork with my colleagues and friends from other NGOs. Apart from associative life, and professional life, I had the chance to tackle another aspect of people’s lives and I had the honor of serving for ten years as an elected member of the Municipal Council of the city of Geneva (Switzerland).
