on April 18, 2011 USA EST 3:00 p.m.

Faculty, international, and domestic student representatives from the  psychology department at King’s College will lead an interactive  discussion on the role of psychology in addressing the global problem  of mental health. The format is discussion, not lecture, with  questions posed both by the audience and by the facilitators. Specific  focus will be on how people react to stressful events, and the  strategies they can develop to cope with universal negative emotions  like anxiety, fear, and depression. We also want to explore how the  effects of psychological stress are expressed differently in various  cultures, and how the global resources of academic communities can be  used to develop cooperative initiatives to foster psychological health.

Please email michelemvella@gmail.com to confirm your participation.  There are 150 participant spaces available for this UNAI discussion.
